Registration Policies

Registering for our convention

Thank you for your interest in Furry Weekend Atlanta!

All registrations are handled through MyFWA.com. To attend our convention, you must create a MyFWA.com profile online. With a MyFWA.com account, you can purchase your registration, view your profile, and register for future years as they become available. Attendees can create a MyFWA.com account and pre-register for our convention year-round, including at the convention itself.

Creating a MyFWA.com account and pre-registering for the convention is highly recommended before queuing for the registration line. MyFWA.com is optimized for computer, tablet, and mobile phone use.

Important things to note:

  • Attendees under the age of 13 will not be able to create a MyFWA.com account and must register onsite with a parent or guardian present.
  • Minor policies are enforced for anyone under the age of 18 by the first day of the convention.
  • Please carefully review our Minor Policies below.

Personal Identification Requirements

According to Georgia State laws governing assembly, Furry Weekend Atlanta is required to verify identity before a registration can be redeemed for use. This means, that every guest must present a valid photo ID to attend our convention.

Furry Weekend Atlanta must be able to verify your identity, name, and age. A primary identification will contain your photo, legal name, and birth date and be issued by a state or national government. Examples of a primary identification are a driver’s license or state identification card, passport, military identification, or national identification card (for international guests).

Secondary identifications are forms of ID that don’t contain all of the above information or are not issued by a state or national government. While they alone are not solely acceptable for identification to Furry Weekend Atlanta staff, using multiple types of secondary identification is permitted. Examples of secondary identification include school IDs, work IDs, union membership cards, birth certificates, social security cards, health insurance cards, check stubs, or W2 forms.

If you are attempting to use secondary identifications to enter Furry Weekend Atlanta, you must be able to provide photo identity, name, and age. All your forms of secondary identification must match and at least one must be issued by a state or national government.

Your forms of identification must match the legal name on your MyFWA.com profile.

Multiple Memberships & Gift Registrations

Multiple memberships, such as family, group, or gift purchases, may be assigned through MyFWA.com. In order to allow someone other than the account holder to pick up a registration, the original purchaser must either accompany them to registration, or assign the badge via Will Call. To do so:

  • Log in to MyFWA.com and select “Wallet” from the top left menu options.
  • All purchased registrations will be visible here. Select the one you wish to assign and click “Set Will Call”.
  • Enter the person’s legal name, as it appears on their government issued ID card, into the “Name for Will-Call” box, and hit save. Their name MUST exactly match their ID!
  • Provide your guest with either a printed or screenshot copy of the registration and accompanying barcode to show at registration.

Registration will use the provided barcode to access your purchased registration, verify your guest has been assigned the membership, and activate their pass from there. All FWA attendees must have a MyFWA.com account prior to arriving at Registration. Attendees 13 years of age and younger will be assigned to the purchaser’s account.

Minor Policy

Furry Weekend Atlanta will welcome any attendee who wishes to attend our convention regardless of age. The majority of our programming, and all programming during the day is, at most, PG-13 rated, with much of it being PG. Any registered member may attend any of this programming. However, we do have some “adult” (R+) programs in the evenings and later at night. Attendees under the age of 18 will not be permitted to attend these programs.

16 and 17 year old attendees:

Furry Weekend Atlanta will be enforcing a requirement that all attendees UNDER THE AGE OF 18, as of the Opening Ceremonies of Furry Weekend Atlanta, must have a signed, notarized consent form (available in DOC and PDF) on file with Furry Weekend Atlanta staff OR a parent or guardian present when they register at the convention.

International visitors who are UNDER THE AGE OF 18 are still required to have a signed and notarized parental permission form on file with Furry Weekend Atlanta. We have a special international form (available in DOC and PDF) that is designed to be as generic as possible. Furry Weekend Atlanta suggests checking the phone directory under both Commissioner for Oaths and Notary Publics. As a last resort, US Consular Services in most nations have notaries on staff at consular locations that can take care of it for you as well.

Attendees between 13 and 15:

Attendees 15 AND UNDER must have a parent or guardian present when they check in at the convention.

Attendees under the age of 13:

Attendees UNDER THE AGE OF 13 must also have a parent or guardian present when they check in at the convention and a chaperone above the age of 18 (preferably a parent or legal guardian) with them at all times when they are in convention space. Chaperones and guardians attending the convention must also be a registered attendee.

Identification requirements:

Minors will also need some form of suitable identification, such as a copy of a birth certificate, a learner’s permit or driver’s license, or a passport. School IDs are only acceptable as a secondary form of identification.

The name on your identification must match the name on your permission form.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but this is for the safety of all the attendees as well as the convention itself.

Parents, legal guardians, etc., please bear in mind that Furry Weekend Atlanta is not responsible for the conduct of minors at the convention. We are not babysitters and we will not be monitoring or correcting the conduct of your minor (as long as your minor is not violating convention policy). While minor badges will be clearly marked and any programming that may be adult in nature will take place in the evenings and will have door guards to prevent minors from gaining access, and while we will make every effort to see that minors are not granted access, Furry Weekend Atlanta specifically disclaims any liability for anything that may happen to your minor or anything that your minor may be exposed to.
