Volunteering at Furry Weekend Atlanta

We owe a lot of thanks to our past volunteers (without them we'd have to do all out own grunt work), and to all of you who've shown a desire to 'just help out' with all the little things that it takes to make Furry Weekend Atlanta so great.

FWA '08 promises to be a BIG year indeed (did you know it's our 5th birthday?) so we'll need all the extra hands we can get!

We can't pay our 'teers for their hard work but we do all that we can to show that thier efforts are worthwhile.

This year all volunteers will have a special badge and there will be a T-shirt for those who complete 10 hours of service, and just 15 hours of dedicated service will earn you a complimentary membership to FWA 2009!

In some cases we'll need extra hands before and after the convention, so those who help out before opening ceremonies on Friday and after closing ceremonies on Sunday get DOUBLE credit for those hours worked.

Thursday Feb. 14th - Hours worked this day count DOUBLE!

We'll need some help with the FWA storage locker. We'll need quite a few strong backs to load up boxes, lights, everything! Storage is just a few miles away from where the hotel is so we'll also need a few people with cars who are willing to ferry people back and forth.

At the hotel we'll need even more people to help unload the trucks. This effort usually begins with the loaders leaving the hotel and heading to the storage locker around 12:00pm and getting back to the hotel around 1:00pm to unload. If you're interested email filthyrottenangel (at) gmail dot com and let me know if you 1- can help with loading/unloading 2- have a car and are willing to shuttle people back and forth 3- how many able bodies can you fit in your car?

Sunday Feb. 17th - Hours worked after closing ceremonies count DOUBLE!

We're going to need help boxing and loading up the truck to take everything back to the storage locker!

Listed below are a few of the areas that will need help during the con. Granted, placement in a preferred area will come down to first come first serve, so if you plan to pre-reg (which you should, really!) and are interested in volunteering in a particular area, let us know!

Hospitality- Got a burning need to know what it is those God Level furries are up to? Volunteer with hospitality and you'll be able to help out with the consuites! Duties may include: keeping things clean, fetching ice, keeping the paparazzi out of the God Level Suites, and making sure the food doesn't run out.

Security- Got sharp eyes? Many areas of the convention are Badge Only and we'll need YOU to make sure that everyone has an official FWA 2008 badge.

Dealer's Den- Here we'll need help setting up before the con and breaking down after the con, (work during these times for double credit!). We'll also need some help with preparing and serving lunches for the dealers.

Fursuit Games- Here we'll need some help setting up and breaking down the games as well as monitoring. And if you're going to be bringing your camcorders and don't mind videotaping those wacky fursuiters for us we'll be much obliged!

Registration- Reg needs your help! We'll need some friendly furs here to help with printing and laminating during the con. It's going to be busy work so don't forget your game face!

Please send an email to filthyrottenangel (at) gmail (dot) com with the following information if you have an intrest in becoming a volunteer!

Please list your areas of intrest in the order of prefrence and we'll try our best to match you up with where you want to be!
