FWA prides itself on its diverse lineup of programming, working hard to provide events and activities for all its guests so that there is always something for everybody going on the whole weekend long. Informational panels, games of both tabletop and video variety, even a parade of suits -- you can bet it all happens under one roof. Some of our main events include:
Furries Got Talent?!
Furries are given the chance to seize their fifteen minutes of fame in front of a panel of judges to win the top prize.
Fursuit Dance Competition
Suiters are given the chance to show off their best moves in this spirited dance competition.
Rock Band Tournament
New in 2010, FWA has amped up your normal Rock Band experience by putting guests center-stage and allowing them to compete with friends to win prizes.
The Infamous FWA Dead-Dog Dance
After all the fun has been said and done, 'tis time to have one last hurrah. This con tradition of dancing the night away has been going on since FWA's inaugural year.
What is Furry Weekend Atlanta?
Furry Weekend Atlanta, or "FWA" for short, is an annual anthropomorphics (or 'furry') convention that brings visitors together who share common interest in all things furry for a fun-filled weekend.
FWA began in 2003 when a group of furries from the local area decided that it was high time that Atlanta had a furry convention. Planning went on for six months, and in 2004 the first FWA was held at the Holiday Inn Atlanta Airport North, welcoming over 270 attendees in its inaugural year.
For 2010, FWA has grown to accommodate over 1500 guests including 190 suiters from all over the globe. FWA has also raised $4600 during the 2010 convention year for its charity, Conservators' Center, Inc., with $880 brought in from a poker tournament.
