Furry Weekend Atlanta Staff Application

Before submitting your application, please carefully read the following:

FWA Staff Code of Conduct

  1. When a staff member wears his or her jersey, he or she is a representative of Furry Weekend Atlanta, whether on duty or not. Staff members will be courteous and kind to all attendees and display Southern Hospitality at all times.
  2. Staff members will keep convention business internal and exercise extreme discretion in what non staff members are told. Staff will not spread rumor, gossip, or speculation about anyone, staff or otherwise, or any incidents that may occur during the con. Should an incident occur during the convention, staff will refer all questions to a member of the Board unless given permission to release specific information, and will then only release those details which are approved for release. In all cases, staff must present a united front at all times, especially in any time of crisis.
  3. No staff member will speak on behalf of Furry Weekend Atlanta to any outside organization without the explicit, prior approval of the CEO. All questions from outside organizations (media, etc) should be immediately referred to the CEO.
  4. No staff member will represent him or herself to have any role or position with Furry Weekend Atlanta that has not been specifically delegated to that person by a coordinator or board member empowered to make such a delegation.
  5. Staff members will not use or be under the influence of alcohol, illegal narcotics, or any mind-altering substance while on duty or when they will soon need to be on duty. Staff members will not consume alcohol, illegal narcotics, or any mind-altering substance while wearing anything that identifies them as staff (including jerseys and badges). Any staff member found to be using or in possession of any illegal substance at any time will be immediately dismissed from staff and reported to the appropriate authorities.
  6. Staff members will not engage in horseplay, fighting, reckless behaviour, or the carrying out of personal vendettas at the convention.
  7. Staff members will adhere to accepted social norms regarding personal hygiene.
  8. Staff members will adhere to the following dress code while on duty: an FWA jersey (preferable) or an FWA t-shirt, presentable pants or shorts, and presentable shoes. Tasteless or offensive clothing or accessories will not be worn by staff. Other dress-code rules may be defined at the discretion of individual coordinators or directors for their staff.
  9. Staff members will refrain from “playing” on radios or using radios for non-convention related purposes. Staff will not announce sensitive information on the radio.
  10. Staff members will arrive on-time for assignments and will not abandon their post without a notifying their immediate coordinator and having a suitable replacement.
  11. Staff members will respect the chain of command.
  12. Staff members will do nothing that will endanger the convention.
  13. Staff members will meet their responsibilities throughout the entire convention as defined in their job description . They will participate in convention activities as required and carry out assignments given to them by coordinators or directors.
